Wrote the below yesterday-8 Nov but the site was down....
Finally set aside some time to pen down some thoughts on Javan’s blog and also to update how I take care of Javan while HT is outstation for 1 whole week.
First of all, I would say Javan has been very very well behaved. At least for the last 2 days and today. Keeping fingers cross on the next few days. Hopefully he knows that papa is not around and mama will have a hard time if he does not cooperate.
Every weekday, my routine is pretty much the same in the morning. I will let Javan play on his ABC mat 30 mins after his first milk feed, then I will start to clean up myself. This few days Javan had cooperated fully, he did not make any noise when I placed him there and told him mummy need to get ready and bring him out to aunty place. Of course occasionally I need to watch out incase of any danger as we did not child proof our house yet.
Evening routine will be different without HT around. I will go for my super fast dinner, got to finish up in 10 mins or so and reached nanny’s place at 7.10pm. Then bring Javan back and play with him till 8pm-“supper” milk feed. Reason that I choose to have my dinner first then fetch back Javan is because I feel that this bonding part is extra-important since it’s the end of the day (before he goes to bed) and without daddy at home, and I want him to know/feel mama love him and really cherish the little bonding time that we had together. So would normally watch him play/play with him and practice his pull to stand skill.
Without HT around, I’m most worried about myself getting sick…ha….I will not skip any meal and try not to take heaty stuff. Ironically, yesterday I ended up finishing a packet of chilli potato chip after my Laksa dinner. Feel so guilty after I finished up the whole packet. Guilty not so much about putting on weight but scaring of falling sick and ruining our weekend.
Without another pair of hand, everything needs to be planned. Planning things like what to do first, what to do next, what is more important, for washing of stroller, washing of hankies, washing of milk bottles, my shower time, etc…… that is only for weekday evening task. The task list continues on weekends…..but still manageable I would say, will not have any extra time to laze or own time to surf net.
PS: this is the first "ON the PC after so many days"....Quite an achievement though!! A pat for myself!
Thanks to nanny and SIL for volunteering in helping out!!! Appreciate their nice and thoughtful gestures.
Today I follow nanny’s routine and found it manageable for myself and better for Javan. It will not confuse him since he is used to nanny’s routine. Brought Javan to his grandma house after his lunch-porridge. Javan took his nap there and his dinner- porridge till we came home. He only napped for 1 hour so on the journey home, he was yawning away on the train but he did not ask mummy to carry him even though he is tired. What a GOOD BOY!! Reach home and gave him milk and put him into his sarong. Less than 10 mins he was in his dreamland…Zzzz…………..
