Teething Chart

Javan is Teething BIG TIME now! He is having a total of 8 teeths, just nice for his age and since last week, we realised that he is having swollen gums on his lower gums. He should be cutting his cuspid tooth/teeth as per the teething chart. He keep biting on objects and likes to mouth his fingers but he doesnt drool unless he played with his saliva.

Started last saturday (11 April 08) on his last milk feed at 8.30pm and lasted till sunday, he became fussy and does not suckle well. Even his gums and lower gums seems unlevel. So we actually spoonfeed him for his few feeds. Luckily he doesnt refuse milk. His milk intake still remains at more than 500ml per day and he is taking his solid well.

AS of today, he is taking milk in his bottle again. According to nanny, he is sucking well.

Will update his tooth cutting date soon

Zoological Garden

We brought Javan out to Zoo today. Thanks Er yee for the free tickets. As usual Javan woke up at 6.30am and we settle his milk feed, change him and out we go at 7.30am. Early bird catches the worms! HT and I settle our breakfast at our "ex-usual coffeeshop", it was the coffeeshop when we would go when before Javan was borned, everytime we visited the gynae. Had a hearty breakfast there! :-)

All done and we reached Zoo at 9.30am. Waited for Daniel and San yee for a while. We were early! Took some pictures at the main entrance. Both kiddos were very well behaved at the zoo.

We went for the Rainforest Fightback show at Amphitheatre at 10.30am. Javan had his milk feed there and we watch the show. Was keeping my fingers cross about his milk feed. Luckily he did not fuss and drank as per normal. He finished his 230ml of milk within 10 minutes. Suppose to have his morning nap but he missed it, he fuss a little when we were in the Ameng restaurant. Overall he was alright to miss his morning nap.

We wanted to let Javan experience the Tram ride. Unfortunately, the tram rides was not included in the Coroporate tickets. So we passed it! We walked to the kidzworld Rainforest. Did not let Javan enjoy any rides as he's too young. We settle for a spot and Daddy brought Javan to the water area. Daniel went too!

Javan looked sleepy when he was at the water area. However he did not fuss. Enjoyed himself after sometime. Let him play with the water and change him at 12.30pm, then feed him with rice cereal and we all had KFC for lunch!

Javan was knocked out on our way out of KFC. He did not fuss and just fall asleep on him pram. He was tired out. Did not fuss, such a good boy!

We had an enjoyable day at the Zoo for our very first outing! Will visit again.

Javan stood quietly for the photo shoot before we went out
It's very rare so Mummy took quite a lot of pictures for him.

Mama is over the moon on our 3rd Anniversay

Javan has been calling me mama... since 2 evenings ago (25 March 2009). It's our 3rd Anniversay!! He has been calling/screaming from Apa Apa to papa. It's kinda clear and it's 2 syllabus now. So i guess it's MY turn now. On 25 March when i change him into his pyjamas, he lie on the bed and and babble, it's was not so clear, well..maybe ma...ma...and babbling other words too. But both of us cannnot make out what he is trying to say. Finally, he look at me and say mama...Last evening, he did it again. Look at me and say mama when he was in his play yard. His "mama" was in a very gentle tone! Makes MAMA melt and MAMA is over the moon! However he will say it if he wants to now. Coz HT had tried asking him to say mama...he simply refuse.

Think ive mentioned ealier on my entry that Im not sure if it's conincidental or a kids intelligence! Ever since he was about 2 months old, we bring him to my mum's place every weekend and whenever my sis and i talked about him. In a way he will protest. Regarding the calling Mama part. That evening, We (Nanny/Neighbour/HT/I) was saying that till now he still do not call mama (but in the beginning when he was learning to talk, before calling papa. He said mama/mum mum). It happened the same evening that he called Mama and he looked at me! :-)

Realised that whenever people commented on him, he will act on people's comment (eg, tried hard to crawl even though he cant). Sometime HT and i commented on him and he will protest in a loud thunderous voice.

Probably he understand Adults world/words after all!!!

Will be posting more pictures of Javan soon....

14 Month

Nowaday Javan is walking steadily with real fast speed. That's why we have been watching and following him most of the time (Including Nanny). We have heard so much about kids falling and cutting their gums/teeth.. so we decided that we would not take any chance, well..at least for now that he has just started walking. On the other hand, I (or we) has been wondering if we are overly protective..??!! As the older generation that has the saying that "kids need to fall to growup.." Anyway our house has not been baby proof yet. So we are not ready to letting him run round the house on his own yet.

Javan's favourite spot would be the kitchen and toilet. Ha ha..both place coz he likes to step on the rug as the rugs have different texture. Next he will walk to the DVD area where he would imitate us when we pressed on the buttons to play the songs.

Talked about song, I used to ask him "Do you want to listen to songs-(in mandarin)" for 2 days, both morning and evening when he reached home and he will nod his head. After that, every morning and evening, before i asked him he looked at me and nod his head, he is telling me that he wants to listen to songs. And whenever i walked to the player, he will followed, just that he is inside the play yard. When i eject the CD compartment, Javan giggle/laugh. Movement seems to fasinate him so much.

Javan also likes to imitate us opening the gate of the play yard. He will pretend to cry or ask to be carried. Then he will make his way out of the play yard. Guess what...he will stand at the gate and look and hand on the latch as if opening the gate on his own. Then he started to make sounds to tell us to open the play yard. I will tell him "Open", now whenever i say "open" he will look at the gate.

Javan is able to understand most of the command/names that we taught him. whenever i asked him, where is bear. He will flip his story book and hit his hand on the page of the bear. Javan doesnt point, he uses his palm and hit on the exact page. He loves to flip books, especially those board books. On the other hand, he will step on the books that are placed in the play yard, causing most of the board books to get crumpled. Little destroyer?!!

Whenever he is in the study room, he will open the door of the books shelves and take out 1 book and put on the floor. Then he will closed the door. I was so surprise when i first saw him doing that. We did not teach him and i remember doing that only once and he learnt it!

Javan still has cannot eat on his own. Hopefully he will be able to train him on that. We hope that he can join us on the dinning table (eat with us but having his own food), we know it will be a mess but still hope to try out. ;-)

Potty Trained-We have not trained him, hopefully as what the recommanded age tells, 18 months would be the most appropriate.

So much so much to tell..this age toddler really learn so much on their own. Especially imitating at us adults.

Javan Started WALKING at 13 Month 1 Wk & 5 Days

Javan has started to walk unassisted. We've first seen him walking unassisted in a more steady steps last sunday at my mum's place and on Monday (2 March 2009), we confirmed that he can/started to walk! Well, he is able to sustain quite a distance already. Did not manage to video him walking around the whole house. Only a part as Daddy is too afraid that he may just fall and hurt himself!
