My worry finally came true, seeing so many Jan-08 babies falling sick, was worrying/thinking when Javan will have fever??...
Last sun 5+ am, Daddy discovered about Javan feverish. I was tired and was still sleeping when Javan was crying in his sarong, HT then carried him out and wanted to measured his temperature, maybe feeling hot when carried Javan. I then woke up, then measured Javan temperature and indeed he is running a fever. It's 38.7 Degree Cel..
I panicked upon seeing 38.7 deg cel. Was thinking and asking HT what to do??!! Suddenly remembered there's some fever medication (got from Pd when Javan had his jab). After giving him 1.5ml of paracetomol at 5.50am we put him back to his sarong. He was crying and crying away....It took sometime to settle him down then sleep. Finally sleep for abt half an hour. Wake up crying again and this time was very bad, measured his temperature again at 10+ am and it shoot up at 38 degree cel. again. So, we decided to bring him to TMC 24 hr clinic after calling so many clinic-thought at least 1 will open on sun.
We reach TMC at 11+am and decide to see if the paediatric centre is open, found that it's open but Dr keoy was not in the clinic only both Dr Angs' are available. HT decided to go for Dr Ang Ai Tin since we went to Dr Ang Ai Tin talk on the Ante natal class before.
Dr Ang was very fast in assessing Javan, she checked Javan's mouth, temp and throat. She asked if Javan has any contact with children or in infant care or is there any children in nanny's house, though all answer were no but we were asked to watch out and monitor him as Dr Ang suspect it might be HFM since there were 2 red spots on his throat, we were also told to come back in 2 days time if the fever persisted or there's any sign of HFM. Semi-sold can be given to Javan as per usual but the porridge can be cooked to more watery consistency.
Javan has medication for fever, high fever, running nose, throat, cough. He had lost 200gm in just 2 days.
Coming back in a cab and Javan dozed off halfway home, hw was too tired and Dr Ang informed us earlier that he will be feeling a little grouchy. We feed Javan with medication when we reahed home and let him nap a little. Woke up crying on and off......
At 3.30pm, we fed Javan porridge and he had finished up a small plate. Finally hungry after 2 hours of sleep, this time round, he was feeling fresh and a little better....
Seeing him a little better makes us better too!! Hope his fever will go away soon.
HT was calm and perhaps this is him!!. His calmness was good in a sense, it calm me down a little too.... :-)
