JL Shopping again-Our FIRST shopping

It been some time since HT and I last did our shopping together. I remembered clearly our last shopping was before Lil' Darlin came to this world. We did our shopping for him, bought him stroller/wet wipes/diapers/ear thermometer/etc...

Lesser "me" time since we have Javan, nevertheless we did our first on last Tues-9Sept. We went for JL firstday of cardmember sale. Met Aiwee and Kate. Met Aiwee at JL sale the last round too, really a conincidence :-)...
Though it's somehow was a rush one, reach there at 6.45pm and finished our shopping at 8.30pm. Items that we bought were lotsa darling clothes, mostly from 18mths onwards, wet wipes, thermo flask and HT stuff. Now we need 2 sets for most items (home and nanny's place). Ive got zero item..ha..Nothing to buy from JL. Wanted to buy some building block for Javan but nothin for baby. As usual, Home delivery!!

As promised, we reached nanny place at 9.25pm (before 9.30pm), lil' darlin was so happy to see us, as if he knows that we are bring him home.

Nanny's hubby said we could bring Javan over to his place on sat/sun if we are busy or need some time. Really nice of him to volunteer to help. Appreciate to both their help. Hope to have more couple time together:-p

Fever-For the First Time

My worry finally came true, seeing so many Jan-08 babies falling sick, was worrying/thinking when Javan will have fever??...

Last sun 5+ am, Daddy discovered about Javan feverish. I was tired and was still sleeping when Javan was crying in his sarong, HT then carried him out and wanted to measured his temperature, maybe feeling hot when carried Javan. I then woke up, then measured Javan temperature and indeed he is running a fever. It's 38.7 Degree Cel..
I panicked upon seeing 38.7 deg cel. Was thinking and asking HT what to do??!! Suddenly remembered there's some fever medication (got from Pd when Javan had his jab). After giving him 1.5ml of paracetomol at 5.50am we put him back to his sarong. He was crying and crying away....It took sometime to settle him down then sleep. Finally sleep for abt half an hour. Wake up crying again and this time was very bad, measured his temperature again at 10+ am and it shoot up at 38 degree cel. again. So, we decided to bring him to TMC 24 hr clinic after calling so many clinic-thought at least 1 will open on sun.
We reach TMC at 11+am and decide to see if the paediatric centre is open, found that it's open but Dr keoy was not in the clinic only both Dr Angs' are available. HT decided to go for Dr Ang Ai Tin since we went to Dr Ang Ai Tin talk on the Ante natal class before.

Dr Ang was very fast in assessing Javan, she checked Javan's mouth, temp and throat. She asked if Javan has any contact with children or in infant care or is there any children in nanny's house, though all answer were no but we were asked to watch out and monitor him as Dr Ang suspect it might be HFM since there were 2 red spots on his throat, we were also told to come back in 2 days time if the fever persisted or there's any sign of HFM. Semi-sold can be given to Javan as per usual but the porridge can be cooked to more watery consistency.

Javan has medication for fever, high fever, running nose, throat, cough. He had lost 200gm in just 2 days.

Coming back in a cab and Javan dozed off halfway home, hw was too tired and Dr Ang informed us earlier that he will be feeling a little grouchy. We feed Javan with medication when we reahed home and let him nap a little. Woke up crying on and off......
At 3.30pm, we fed Javan porridge and he had finished up a small plate. Finally hungry after 2 hours of sleep, this time round, he was feeling fresh and a little better....

Seeing him a little better makes us better too!! Hope his fever will go away soon.
HT was calm and perhaps this is him!!. His calmness was good in a sense, it calm me down a little too.... :-)

Constipation -Terrible Time

Javan has been having constipation for almost 3 weeks. This 3 weeks he had been having hard stool for almost every poo. We had given him stool softener and we stopped after the third dose of medication which was 2 weeks ago. The stool came out soft on the 2nd dose(1st was hard)and we stopped the medication-as it says can stop after bb having soft stool, nanny has feedback that he has been feeding Javan with Fruits and has added more veggie into Javan's porridge but it doesnt help at all. Gosh..Javan cried everytime before and during pooing and he had been trying real hard to aqueeze out the poo but most of the time in vain, the poo was so big and hard.
We wanted to bring him to PD-kidslink last week but change our mind later coz Ive decided to add in Friso comfort for constipation and wanted to see if it's help before going plus it's raining that day. Hence the postponed.
Yesterday morning before I brought him to Nanny, i saw him squeezing his poo again but there's no poo in his diaper, when i reached office i called TMC nurse and explained the constipation problem to her and her advise was to bring Javan down as there might be left over thingy in his body as most of the time hard stool will not be totally clear. And the nurse mention that PD-Dr Keoy do have an evening clinic last evening-we were unaware of the evening clinic. After that i called HT and we decided to bring Javan to consult PD and such a relief that we did visit PD!!
HT went back home after work and packed Javan's stuff into and a haversack (diaper, extra set of clothes, health booklet, milk bottle, powder etc)then he went over nanny place and fetch Javan to TMC on a cab. HT uses a baby carrier to carry Javan with a haversack on his shoulder and an umbrealla, though it sounds not unusual but it's drizzling outside. He really did a good job and i went straight from office to TMC which is easier for me, If not it's really a detour..

Im impressed!! THANKS my Dear!! When i reached PD clinic, HT was carrying Javan on a weighing scale and Javan looked happy. We realised that Javan loves to scream when he's happy. He was screaming away and has his eyes on everything. Basically he's curious about everything just like when he's in his pram.

Back to PD
I explained the whole constipation thingy to Pd-Dr Keoy and seek his advise on what should be added/removed to have softer stool. I raised my doubt/concerned if it's due to the FM that he's taking?
Minutes later, pd put on his gloves with some cream on his last finger then he started to break his stool ...., he mentioned that he will need to clear his bowel, which is so hard that he really took some time and Javan was ok for the first minute, another minute javan was crying pathetically. When the poo finally came out (a part of it), it's really sooooo hard, pd said there are some more inside. Pd then inserted enema and told us to wait outside for 15mins to wait for Javan to Poo and clean him up then back to see him again.
15 minutes had gone by and Javan still did not poo, we went in to see pd again, this time round, pd inserted his last finger wif some cream again and Javan was crying uncontrollably, obviously in pain! Alot of hard stool came out together and Javan urinated on pd's table. Later we brought him out, clean and change him and he was still crying away.
Pd advise was to give half of the fruits and veggies of what Javan is taking now. He commented that it's too much fiber. He does not think that it's due to the formula milk that he is taking. Was asked to give Javan Firso comfort and stool softener for 1 week and he should be able to poo everyday without hard stool.
It's a new beginning today, hope he will be able to poo as per normal. So worried and heartpain.......

1st Puree-Pumpkin

Prepare Pumpkin Puree for Javan on Sun evening and he enjoyed it, finished all pumpkin in his bowl. Will prepare more this coming weekend..so happy that he likes it! Evidence:-

New Haircut

Brought Javan to his hair cut last sun at block 615 CCK. Had his hair shave, botak again!! hahha..
As usual he cry his lung out. We prefer to shave him because we realised that sometime he will pull his hair and prefer his botak look. This hairdresser can definitely shave better than the HuaXia China hairdresser.

Konishi House Warming

Had been busy over the weekend, sat was Konishi and Ann's house warming. Thanks to Uncle Craven for giving us a ride to and fro from our house to Konishi house at Joo Chiat Terrace. Uncle Craven picked us up at The Quintet pick up area, 30 mins after Javan had his Porridge with Baby spinich and carrot. On the way to Konishi's house, Javan fall asleep on my lap and managed to nap for about 20 minutes. I would say nowaday he can keep himself awake even though he is tired.
When we reached Konishi's house, Javan was happily smiling with everybody, playing and looking around the house but he doesnt allowed stranger to carry him, think he is having stranger anxiety at this stage-7 month plus. Uncle Craven and Micheal wanted to carry him but he cry...
Napping time, HT and I took turn to pat Javan to sleep but he simply refused!! Obviously he is too used to his sarong and was making a fuss when we put him in his pram. He was cranky prior to his nap. No choice but to bring him downstair for a walk in his pram, hopefully he can sleep in his pram. Not much luck! Though he managed to close his eyes but he keep waking up in a startled-few times i think, could be because when he is crying i still put him in his pram, which he doesnt like. :-P....after napping for 10-20minutes on and off, we carry him up again...this time round, he seems ok, doesnt cry much.

Looking back, sometime we do regret about letting Javan have his sarong, though it's the easy way out of calming him when he was 2 month old. He's a colic baby for no apparent reason, maybe taking after daddy..hahha..
He would cry every evening at the same timing and being first time daddy and mummy with no help at all, we ultimately agreed to buy a Electric sarong. He would have outgrow the colic part very soon if we persevere at that point of time. Now we have to find ways of weaning him off his sarong, not going to be easy though.....
